The only thing we waited for in June happened! Actress Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan have tied the knot and taken their relationship to the next level.
Their grand wedding was attended by close family, friends and A-listers from the industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajnikanth, Boney Kapoor and Atlee among others.
Several celebrities including Pooja Hedge, Katrina Kaif and Samantha Ruth Prabhu congratulated the newlyweds on social media.
How they fell in love
Though Nayanthara’s career has been skyrocketing her personal life has seen several setbacks with failed relationships but with the entry of Vignesh Shivan into her life everything changed for good. We can also call her as the lucky charm of the latter’s life. Both of them met in the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhan. It was slow and gradual as they fell for each other but kept it all under the carpet letting no one jinx it!
When Mansoor Ali Khan spoke of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan on an award night he did spill the beans revealing the stars would talk for hours on the film's sets.
First public appearance together
While they were often papped together, their official snap as a couple was at an award show in Singapore in 2017.
Fans were all thrilled and the whole of the film fraternity was happy for them. As Vignesh Shivan bagged the ‘Best Director title at the event, he thanked his ladylove and called her the 'best human being'. Ever since then, the couple has made countless appearances together, and fans cannot get enough of their cute PDA.
Films Together
Though the couple had been living together for years and pushing away the their marriage, Vignesh Shivan revealed the reason that after the success of Naanum Rowdy Dhan they wanted to create another hit movie together to seal the bond with a wedding. They jointly produced the film, Koozhangal, aka Pebbles which garnered a lot of critical acclaims. And also worked together in Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal which was a huge success. They made up their mind that this will be the time to take the next step in their relationship.
Engagement
Nayanthara's absence from social media channels might steal away a lot of information about her life from a fan’s gaze but Vignesh Shivan has been making up for it with more of her pictures on his Instagram account making it look like Nayanthara’s profile. It was in March 2021, when he posted a picture of them together with rings. But it was only in August 2021 when Nayanthara accepted that she is engaged to Vignesh Shivan.
The Wedding
Finally the power couple tied the knot in a Hindu ceremony at Mahabalipuram in a resort.
The gorgeous decor featured elaborate floral arrangements that could be seen near high glass ceilings, as well as on the floor. Both the bride and groom wore customised ethnic ensemnles by designer Monica Shah of Jade. Nayanthara was a regal bride in vermillion red saree draped by Dolly J . Her full sleeve number was adorned with a floor sweeping veil anda seven-layered neckpiece made of diamonds, rose cuts, polki and emeralds by Goenka India, along with a heavy choker. Her drop-dead gorgeous look went well with the heritage setting. Emerald studs in the ears and an emerald and diamond maang tikka completed her royal look. Styled by Shaleena Nathani, even the groom was a stunner in his ivory silk kurta, mundu and shawl.
As per reports Nayanthara presented around 30 pounds of gold jewellery to her sister-in-law along with other customized things for members of husband Vignesh Shivan's family.
Biggies from the film fraternity including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Karthi, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Anirudh Ravichander, Dileep, Atlee, and others reached the venue to bless the newlyweds.
